Everest Sherpa Village Trek
Days: 12
Difficulty: Medium - Hard
When to go:Mid Feb – May & Mid Sept - Dec
From Kathmandu we take a scenic flight to Lukla enjoying the breathtaking views of Himalayan mountain range. After our adventure landing at the tiny Lukla airstrip, the trek begins following the traditional trail of the Dudhkoshi river into the Everest National Park. The meandering trail passes through the heartland of the Sherpa settlements, Buddhist monasteries and we enjoy the alpine flowers and views of Everest and other popular mountains getting closer everyday. Our goal is to explore the largest Sherpa village, Khumjung, visit its monastery as well as the Edmund Hillary schools, and experience the vibrant Sherpa culture. Wandering through Yak and Sherpa land, we have amazing close-up views of Everest, Amadablam and other Khumbu mountains. This is a relatively easy trip, one that ensures a slower pace, and time to experience one of the world's great cultures.
